This Calgary Industrial Greenhouse Wedding was a pretty explosion of all of our favourite things: modern decor, industrial architecture, watercolour patterns, and plants galore! If we had our way, we’d incorporate plants in all of our creative projects. You should see our home. It’s like a greenhouse {much to Cam’s frustration, oopsies!}

It goes without saying that this styled shoot was particularly close to my {Jessica’s} heart. We handcrafted the ceremony watercolour backdrop, which was an adventure in itself. As wedding planners, we often find ourselves crafting grand ideas to attain our desired vision. The dainty and sparse greenery on the copper arbour and table complimented the minimalist look we were aiming for, and the lush and cascading bouquet with its show-stopping Protea was the piece of resistance. We found the most perfect dress from local designer Laura George to tie the whole look together. Its lace detailing brought an air of softness while the geometric lines in the bodice screamed modern and edgy.

If you’re craving more from this Calgary Industrial Greenhouse Wedding, head on over to Ruffled to see more photos from this beautiful day ♥

Welcome to one of our most recent collaborations! We were craving something a little different and oh so romantic that it would make you weak in the knees. And we achieved just that! Our vision was to introduce an unconventional yet darling wedding or elopement concept: an outdoor, midday, sun drenched and lush, weekend wedding brunch. Take a gander at our inspiration photos for ideas on jaw-dropping neutral colour palettes, an array of delicious brunch sweets, a table setting design that evokes an air of high society meets tragically hip, really rad wedding attire outfits and accessories, and not to mention one of the best looking couples we’ve ever laid our eyes on. Enjoy, friends!

psst..craving more? You can see an in-depth feature of this shoot on 100 Layer Cake ♥

Last fall we had the most unique opportunity to work with a photographer we love all the way from North Carolina. He had never been to the Rockies and was planning a trip out this way, so we thought what better way than a styled Rocky Mountain elopement to immerse him right into the much sought after mountain wedding culture! Here’s what we dreamed up:

Louise and Robin’s romantic escape to the mountains was both a wedding planner’s and photographer’s dream come true. Couple the picturesque backdrop of the Canadian Rocky Mountains with the crystal clear waters and you have yourself the makings for a memorable and breathtaking elopement.

The styling and design for this wedding was inspired by a masculine aesthetic that was at the same time romantic and vintage. We used props from Cellar Door Vintage Rentals to help tie in the whole vision. The weathered and rugged suitcases were the perfect statement for travel and elopement. The picnic was in itself a sight to see with a original Hudson’s Bay blanket and menu curated from local fare from Alberta.

These two had no qualms when it came to scaling mountains or walking out on rickety lumber just to capture the perfect shot. A true outdoorsy couple, this elopement was a reflection of everything they hold dear to their hearts: the mountains, the great outdoors and fun-filled adventure thrills.

These two lovebirds had their engagement photos done at a remote and abandoned barn located in the countryside just South of Calgary. They had three outfits picked out, so what better excuse than to create three differently styled backdrops to compliment each look. First we created a soft and romantic rustic backdrop, complete with lace curtains and an antique seafoam chaise. Then we created a playful set with burlap curtains, pastel pennants and a montage of old crates, suitcases and a steam trunk. Lastly, we created a vignette by using old ladders of varying heights, which we adorned with dainty teacups and doily pennants. All of this sweetness was beautifully captured by the talented eye of Red Bloom Photography.

A couple of summers ago we were approached by Nicole of NC Photography to help style a vision she had for her maternity shoot. We built a couch out of straw bales, adorned it with lace and decor in soft yellows and creams, and placed it in a field with a backdrop of rolling pastures. This was such an amazing photoshoot and unique opportunity to work on a project that was non-wedding related! P.S. How lovely is Nicole’s outfit? We love all of it – head to toe!
