I remember nestling into my comfy couch by the fireplace with a cozy blanket draped over me, hot cup of tea in one hand and a pen and journal in the other. We had only rung in the New Year a few days ago. It was now 2016 and new adventures awaited us. Ah, yes. It was time to set new and exciting intentions for the business, indeed! Cam and I have worked very hard to keep our business afloat. Being an entrepreneur with a novelty business, not to mention in this economy, is a struggle on the best of days. Each year brings new challenges, new trends, new businesses to contend with, but when it’s all said and done, we wouldn’t trade it in for the world!
Where am I going with this? Okay…yes, intentions. Pen and paper. I vividly recall making a list of 2016 goals, and low and behold being featured in a print magazine was high on our list! Well friends, you know how they say if you put it out to the universe, the universe will deliver? (or something like that). Not only were we featured in BLUSH Magazine three times, but one of those times was on their cover! Mind blown! Goals crushed! You can only imagine our excitement when the editor of BLUSH contacted us to see if we’d be interested in collaborating on a wedding concept that was near and dear to their hearts. A Rocky Mountain vow renewal. Enter the ‘We Still Do’ editorial – one that celebrated 10 years of marriage, commitment and love. One that celebrated growing a family and loving your best friend more than you thought ever possible.
I don’t typically like to ramble on in my blogs, mostly because…well, is anyone really reading? But the points I’m trying to make here are:
- Set goals for yourself and your business, and don’t give up on them! No matter how lofty they may seem (Martha Stewart Weddings, we’re coming for you!)
- When opportunity knocks to be part of a crazy talented team of wedding creatives, you jump for joy and high five everyone.
- Always be grateful, no matter how big the struggle or how small the victory, because, you’re an entrepreneur, and that’s mighty honorable.
